Cwmbran fire: Carl Mills remanded in custody on murder charges

A man has been remanded in custody charged with murdering three generations of the same family in a house fire in south Wales.

Carl Anthony Mills, 28, of no fixed address, appeared at Caerphilly magistrates' court on Saturday.

Kim Buckley, 46, daughter Kayleigh, 17, and six-month-old granddaughter Kimberley died in the fire at Cwmbran, Torfaen.

Mr Mills will appear again before Newport Crown Court on Monday.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on the Coed Eva estate on Tuesday.

Det Supt Pete Jones said: "Our thoughts remain with the family of Kim, Kayleigh and Kimberley at this difficult time.

"I would like to thank the family and the wider community of Coed Eva for their patience and support throughout our investigation so far."
