South Wales fire fighters say they have had to deal with over 100 grass fire calls in an 11 hour period.
The blazes included a fire covering eight hectares (20 acres) of scrub land at Ogmore Vale, Bridgend county.
Crews from six stations had to fight the fire before being stood down just after 20:00 BST on Tuesday.
A fire service spokesperson said about 20 of the fires it has dealt with during the day had been started deliberately.
Elsewhere, crews have also tackled grass fires in Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Merthyr Tydfil.
The fire service revealed on Monday that the cost of tackling grass fires in its area has already reached £850,000 this year.
