Rhydyfelin Library closure prompts final day protest

  • Published

A protest was held as a library closed for the final time in Rhondda Cynon Taf on Saturday as part of council cuts.

The closure of Rhydyfelin Library near Pontypridd is one of 14 as the authority tries to save £70m over four years.

Campaigners said the protest was "peaceful" amid reports some people had chained themselves to bookshelves.
