Two magistrates' courts could close in a cost-cutting drive - despite one of them having a £500,000 revamp four years ago.

A consultation is under way to determine whether "underused" Abergavenny and Caerphilly courts should shut, the Ministry of Justice said.

Abergavenny was refurbished in 2010 but closing both courts would save £80,000 a year.

The consultation closes on 21 July, external.
