CityJet axes Cardiff Airport to Glasgow route

An airline is axing flights from Cardiff Airport to Glasgow, nine months after the route was re-instated.
CityJet, which operates three daily flights, said the route will be cut from 25 October but the Paris and Edinburgh services will continue.
It said it was "part of the process an airline goes through" while Cardiff Airport said it remained a "key component" of CityJet's strategy.
The airport was bought for £52m by the Welsh government in March 2013.
A year later, it reported a 9% increase in the number of passengers since the takeover.
Conservative assembly leader Andrew RT Davies said: "This news is particularly concerning given the fact that the route was only reinstated nine months ago."
Debra Barber, who took over as the airport's managing director in August, said they were working closely with CityJet and its flights to Paris and Edinburgh "exceeded expectations" during their first year.
"Our priority is to return the business to its previous level of success and beyond with ongoing discussions with our existing and potential new airlines about enhancing the number of destinations on offer," she said.
Comings and goings:
CityJet - continuing flights to Edinburgh and Paris - the latter taken over from FlyBe; dropped Glasgow from 25 October.
Flybe - resuming weekly winter flights to Geneva from December, running daily to Belfast City; dropped flights to Lyon, Grenoble and Chambray in France from April 2014. It had previously axed Glasgow and Paris. "At the present time, Flybe is not considering operating any other winter routes".
KLM - three times daily to Amsterdam.
Ryanair - a new weekly route to Tenerife from end of October. A return to Cardiff for the Irish-based airline after an eight year gap.
Vueling - winter flights to Alicante and Malaga; summer flight also to Palma, and three flights a week to Barcelona.
Thomas Cook and Thomson - charter flights.
