Llantrisant Guildhall £1.1m restoration go ahead

An historic building's £1.1m revamp has got the go ahead after fundraisers in Rhondda Cynon Taf hit their target.

Llantrisant Guildhall, external has been used as a market hall and school since it was rebuilt in 1773 on foundations dating back to the 14th Century.

Now it is to become a visitors' centre and community hub on the completion of building work which starts this summer.

The Heritage Lottery Fund had already pledged £768,500 towards Llantrisant Town Trust's long-held plans.
