Uncertainty means no replacement for Rhondda Cynon Taf boss

  • Published

With uncertainty over the future of local government, a council will not replace its retiring chief executive, saving it £150,000 this year.

Rhondda Cynon Taf council boss Steve Merritt steps down in August.

Instead of permanently replacing him, group director for education and lifelong learning, Christopher Bradshaw, will cover both roles.

The move will be reviewed next year, after the Welsh Government publishes proposals for council reorganisation.
