Jesse Hawthorne could be jailed for posting the explicit photo on Facebook

A man has admitted posting a sexually explicit photo of a woman on his Facebook page.

Jesse Hawthorne, from Caerphilly, pleaded guilty at Cwmbran Magistrates' Court to one count of disclosing a private sexual photograph or film with the intention of causing distress.

The 23-year-old posted the so-called revenge porn image on 27 June without her consent.

Hawthorne was bailed and will be sentenced at a later date.

The specific offence of revenge porn became illegal after the Criminal Justice and Courts Bill received Royal Assent earlier this year.
