The first Welsh-medium secondary school in Newport has been approved by councillors.
The multi-million pound plan for the site at Duffryn High School had been refused in February after Natural Resources Wales raised concerns about flood risks.
The existing Duffryn High School site will be split, with the new Welsh-medium school built alongside it.
A council report, external said the school would offer pupils "significant benefits".
