Man, 80, killed in Ebbw Vale car park named

An 80-year-old man who died after being struck by a car in which he had earlier been a passenger has been named.

Gwent Police said Brian Overfield from Abertillery, was injured in the car park at Festival Park in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent.

He fell to the floor and suffered head injuries after getting out of a black Smart car at about 12:45 BST on Thursday, 21 May.

He was flown to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where he died.

Investigating officers said the car was being driven by a woman and no arrests had been made, although they were appealing for information.
