Gwent Police name pedestrian, 79, killed in collision

A 79-year-old pedestrian who died after a collision in Torfaen on Monday has been named as Alan James.
He and a 78-year-old woman were hit by a silver Hyundai Santa Fe at about 17:30 GMT in Pontnewydd, near Cwmbran.
He was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital but later died from his injuries. The woman casualty sustained minor injuries
Gwent Police has appealed for any witnesses in the Commercial Street area to come forward.
Investigators said Mr James' family is being supported by specialist officers.
