Twenty one charged after police raid £2m cannabis farms

Twenty one people have appeared in court after £2m worth of cannabis was found in police raids.

They were charged with more than 300 offences including conspiracy after 10 cannabis farms were discovered at addresses across the South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed-Powys police force areas.

All have been remanded in custody and will appear before Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on 5 January.

The defendants include 14-year-old and 16-year-old boys.

The raids were part of Operation Violet Panama, which included the three police forces, the National Crime Agency and the UK Border Agency.
