Plans to build a solar park the size of 46 football pitches have been submitted to Neath Port Talbot council.
Eco Energy World Limited has applied to build more than 53,000 panels on 82.5 acres of land at Tyle'r-fedwen Farm in Cwmavon, near Port Talbot,
The company said construction would take about 14 weeks and would be carried out by 50 workers.
The site will be restored at the end of the energy plant's 25-year lifespan.
Neath Port Talbot council's planning committee will consider the application at a later date.
If approved, it would be among the biggest in Wales.
A year ago, plans for 64,000 panels on a 70-acre site in Anglesey were given approval.
