Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board confirmed a further seven nurses had been suspended

Another nurse has been suspended as part of an inquiry into the alleged falsification of patient records.

That brings the number of suspensions to 13 at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, and one at Swansea's Morriston Hospital.

Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board said it had been carrying out audits and spot checks of blood glucose record-keeping across all its sites.

Three people have been charged by police.

Issues surrounding some patient records at the Princess of Wales Hospital were first highlighted in early 2013, which led to a police investigation into allegations of neglect involving the falsification of entries in patients's notes.

A spokesperson for the health board said: "The audits and spot checks are continuing across the health board's hospitals.

"We continue to assist South Wales Police with their investigations."
