Work has begun on a £5.7m development at Baglan Energy Park that will house a GP surgery, health centre and offices.

The site, next to Neath Port Talbot council's new headquarters, will serve 12,500 patients when it opens next March.

It ends an eight-year effort by Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board to bring the area's health services together in one centre.

A new bridge will also link the two halves of the park for the first time.

Several cosmetics and biotech companies have already moved into the complex.
