Pembrokeshire council has been ordered to reveal how much it spent on lease cars for its former boss who drove a luxury Porsche hired as his work vehicle.

The Information Commissioner has instructed the council to disclose the lease car costs associated with former chief executive Bryn Parry Jones.

The commissioner backed a freedom of information request by BBC Wales.

BBC Wales appealed against a council decision not to publish information.

The authority has 35 days to comply.

The hybrid electric Porsche Panamera he used retails for around £90,000.

Mr Parry-Jones got a £277,000 severance deal after quitting his job in October.

The commissioner ruled that an "individual occupying such a prominent position could reasonably expect a degree of public scrutiny into those aspects of their personal life that cross over into their public serving role".
