Swansea council looking for firms to redevelop city centre

The next step in redeveloping two sites in Swansea is being taken.
The city's council will spend the next week looking for property development firms to create specific plans for the civic centre and St David's sites.
It is hoped the preferred developer will be in place by early 2016.
The council previously announced plans to sell its headquarters and it is hoped the St David's site could become home to shops, restaurants, a public square and a cinema.
Rob Stewart, Swansea council leader, said: "Our plans won't be funded by council money. We'll be looking to make them work by seeking alternative funding sources and investment from the private sector."
A consultation has also opened over the future of the city centre regeneration, external which runs until March.
