Swansea University's £450m Bay Campus will open its doors to the first intake of students on 18 September, the university has confirmed.

The 65-acre (26 hectares) former BP Transit site will provide accommodation for around 900 students as well as academic space, a shop and cafes.

The university hopes the campus will contribute £3bn to the regional economy over the next 10 years.

Further development work has been scheduled to continue until 2020.
