A dog has been rescued after becoming stranded by the tide off a popular Pembrokeshire beach.

The Staffordshire bull terrier became separated from its owner on Poppit Sands at 17:00 BST on Saturday.

Changes to the beach's sand banks mean people walking at low tides can be cut off by the river when the tide comes in.

RNLI lifeguard Sam Purnell paddled over to the seven-year-old dog and brought it back to its owner on a rescue board.
