An 11-year-old amputee will wear Swansea City-branded prosthetic legs when he runs out as mascot for the team's Boxing Day match.

Callum Williams was born with club feet and had both amputated in June.

Staff at the city's Morriston Hospital customised his laminated legs using two shirts donated by the club.

Callum said: "When they told me I was going to be the mascot I thought it would be really good if I could have Swans designs on my legs."

Swans stars Wayne Routledge and Lee Trundle also made a surprise visit to Callum, of Pontarddulais, during a rehab session at the hospital's artificial limb and appliance centre (ALAC).

His mother, Diane Williams, said: "He's really looking forward to Boxing Day.

"They had a chat with him and said it might be a bit overwhelming in the tunnel. But Callum said he would just get on with it and he'd be fine."

The club selected Callum as a mascot for the match at the Liberty Stadium against West Bromwich Albion after his mother's colleagues got in contact.

Ex-Swans striker Trundle, now club ambassador, said: "We've met Callum before.

'Incredible'

"He's been down the training ground and seen us so we've come now to see how he's getting on with his new legs.

"To walk in and see him on the bike, to see him walking and playing football has been unbelievable and we're proud of what he's doing."

Routledge, who will lead Callum out on Boxing Day, said Callum's progress was "incredible".

"You've got to give all the credit to Callum and his strength and resolve to get where he is right now."

The youngster predicted a 3-0 home win for Swansea on Saturday.
