Work has started on creating a vocational village for secondary school children in Carmarthenshire.

It will offer pupils in Llanelli the chance to learn a range of vocational skills by attending classes in other schools.

At the heart of the village is a £1.2m construction skills centre at Bryngwyn School.

Elsewhere there will be training opportunities in catering, performing arts, music technology and child care.

The participating schools are Bryngwyn, Coedcae, Glan y Mor, St John Lloyd, Strade, Ysgol Heol Goffa and Coleg Sir Gar, along with others.

Work on the development at Bryngwyn School is expected to be completed by September.
