Swansea Bay tidal lagoon developer parts with Chinese firm

The developer behind plans for the world's first tidal lagoon power plant, in Swansea Bay, has parted company with its preferred contractor.
Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay (TLSB) decided to re-tender the £300m marine works contract instead of continuing with China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, on cost grounds.
The package includes construction of the six-mile (9.6km) breakwater.
TLSB said it wanted to "deliver optimal value-for-money" to investors.
A spokesperson for the company said: "It's the one change following an internal review of all work packages and will not impact on project funding or the delivery timetable."
Other preferred bidders, including Laing O'Rourke and Alun Griffiths, are unaffected by the review and remain on board.
