Swansea city centre night-time road works to begin

Swansea council said every effort will be made to carry out the noisiest work as early as possible

Night-time road works are due to begin in Swansea city centre on Wednesday as a major highway improvement scheme nears completion.

Resurfacing will be carried out from 19-26 October from Swansea city bus station to the road's junction with Kingsway.

Works will begin from about 18:30 BST with the possibility of running through to the early hours of the morning.

There will be road closures and diversions in place.

Dillwyn Street and Westway will be closed northbound between the bus station and Kingsway on 19, 20 and 21 October.

Westway will then be closed southbound between Kingsway and the bus station on 24, 25 and 26 October.

Swansea council said the Westway improvement scheme will lead to better traffic flows, an improved environment and enhanced pedestrian links between Sandfields and the city centre.
