A former Carmarthenshire nightclub and town centre eyesore could be demolished and rebuilt within months.

EON Investment want to develop Raffles Nightclub in Murray Street, Llanelli, into residential and commercial units as part of a £1.8m investment.

A formal planning application is due to be submitted to Carmarthenshire council.

If approved, it is hoped the development will kick start further regeneration in the town.

Council leader Emlyn Dole said the plans would be a "huge boost for Llanelli town centre".
