Police officers who closed one of the main routes into a Carmarthenshire town on Saturday morning have confirmed a man has died.
The A484 Priory Street, near Carmarthen Town Football Club, was closed in both directions "following concerns for a man's welfare", officers said earlier.
"Sadly, he died a short while later. Our thoughts are with his family," a spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police added.
His death is not believed to be suspicious.
"Officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death," the spokesman added.
The road reopened at about 11:00 GMT after being shut by police for more than two hours.
Dyfed-Powys Police had asked drivers to avoid the road between Old Priory Road and St Peter's Street while they carried out inquiries.
