The latest weather forecast for Scotland as Storm Bert hits

Snow has been falling widely across central and southern Scotland, and falling as rain or sleet for coastal areas.

BBC Scotland's Judith Ralston says the snow will soon extend into northern Scotland.

There are some dangerous conditions over high ground with significant accumulations of snow, with drifting due to the high winds.

Met Office weather warnings are still in force and all higher routes are expected to be severely affected by these atrocious conditions.
