Covid: An event cancelled is better than a life cancelled - WHO chief
The head of the World Health Organization has warned that events might need to be cancelled, with the Covid-19 Omicron variant continuing to spread and families and friends planning to meet up over the festive period.
Speaking in Geneva, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: "It's better to cancel now and celebrate later, than to celebrate now and grieve later."
