Africa Beats: Zimbabwe's Mokoomba

Mokoomba, a band from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, has had an extraordinary journey.

The six young men come from a minority group, the Tonga people, and the language they sing in is not widely understood even in their country, but they were determined to make it as musicians, and they have.

In the last couple of years, they have exploded onto the world stage, and delighted audiences with their youthful exuberance, musical brilliance and slick dance routines.

Mokoomba's music sounds modern, but also draws heavily on traditional songs and Tonga rhythms. The members of the group are keen to put their culture on the map.
