Bricks ‘grown’ using urine invented by South African scientists

When you go to the toilet have you ever thought about all the things that you can do with the waste?

Well, a team of scientists from the University of Cape Town have and are experimenting with using urine to make the building industry more sustainable.

While the concept of using urine as a binding agent is not a new one, the team explain that their process is completely natural and "not unlike the way seashells are formed".

The BBC went to their lab to find out more.
