How Trump locked out contraception in Africa

Some sexual health clinics in Africa have been forced to close since US President Donald Trump came to power.

This is because in 2017 his administration cut funding to organisations, such as Marie Stopes, that provide contraception and safe abortion services in several African countries.

The BBC’s Nomsa Maseko reports that the policy has led to a 40% increase in abortions on the continent.
