Is online freedom under threat in India?

The government in India has pledged that it will not censor social media, in response to a growing uproar over its internet guidelines.

The rules require websites to remove any content which could be offensive or objectionable within 36 hours of receiving a complaint.

Critics say the approach is an infringement of free speech. The BBC's Rajini Vaidyanathan reports from Mumbai.
