Indonesia learning centre offers hope to refugee children

Most of the 13,000 refugees living in Indonesia arrive planning to make the journey across the sea to Australia, but the government there is refusing to accept anyone who arrives by boat.

Indonesia has not signed the UN Convention on Refugees, meaning asylum seekers are not able to work or get an education in the country, so many are left with few options.

But a learning centre in Cisarua is offering refugee children a rare chance at education while they wait in limbo.
