China plank: Policeman sets eight-hour world record

A Chinese policeman has set a new Guinness World Record for the plank position.

In a contest which featured the previous record-holder, Mao Weidong remained in the position for eight hours, one minute and one second.

The plank is a core strength exercise that involves maintaining a position similar to push-ups for the maximum possible time.
