Rescuers dig for Sri Lanka mudslide victims

Monsoon rains have triggered flooding and mudslides in parts of Sri Lanka, leaving scores dead and many more missing.

One of the worst-hit areas is the south-western region of Kalutara which has seen at least five mudslides, burying homes and roads and forcing thousands to flee.

The government says it has asked the United Nations to send search-and-rescue advisers, and is seeking help from neighbouring countries.
