Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai released on bail

Jimmy Lai, a Hong Kong business tycoon and owner of the Apple Daily newspaper, has been released on bail.

Mr Lai was arrested under new security laws brought in by Beijing, who have accused him of colluding with foreign forces.

Mr Lai has been a prominent pro-democracy voice and a supporter of protests that erupted last year.

When the security law was passed in June, Mr Lai told the BBC that this "spells the death knell for Hong Kong".
