Cold weather has disrupted life across northern India, reportedly claiming several lives. The hill town of Shimla has experienced the season's first snowfall.

A fog has enveloped the capital, Delhi, and parts of northern India, causing disruption to air and rail travel.

The fog has also enveloped the Taj Mahal in Agra.
