Jack Straw: Idea of war against Spain over Gibraltar 'absurd'

The former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has criticised former Conservative leader Lord Howard's comments on Gibraltar. Mr Straw told the Today programme the idea of Britain going to war with Spain over Gibraltar was "absurd".

Lord Howard has suggested the prime minister would defend Gibraltar in the same way as Margaret Thatcher defended the Falklands.
