Portlaoise man dies on holiday in Algarve in Portugal

An Irishman has died on holiday in Portugal. He was 30-year-old Daryl Dargan from Port Laoise in County Laois.

The Irish Times is reporting, external he was found by friends at apartments in the Algarve resort of Albufeira.

It is understood he had travelled to Portugal on Friday.

An Irish Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman said they were aware of the death and are ready to provide assistance if required.

No details about how he died have been released.
