Berlin Zoo animals feast on unsold Christmas trees

Animals at Berlin Zoo have been enjoying a belated festive dinner, feasting on unsold Christmas trees.
It is seen as a way to minimise waste and help zoos which have been financially hit by the pandemic.

Bison nibbled on the trees. They are a rarity on the zoo's menu and contain essential oils and fresh needles, tantamount to sweets for animals, the zoo says.
