Fireworks and egg throwing at EU farmer protest in Brussels

European farmers blockaded roads and burned tyres, as EU leaders converged for a summit in the Belgian capital.

The demonstrations are the latest in weeks of protests around the bloc against "costly" regulation and cheaper imports.

Earlier this week, the EU announced some temporary measures in an attempt to lower tensions which have been building around Europe for the past month.
