Alderney's relief Trent class lifeboat Henry Hays Ducksworth attended two incidents within 24 hours.

The lifeboat was launched at 1320 BST on Sunday and 0215 BST on Monday after emergency calls from two yachts both suffering with fouled propeller.

The 10m British yacht Legacy was rescued in difficulty 14 miles north of Alderney.

Footloose, also a 10m yacht, was just three miles north of the island when it got into trouble.

Both were towed safely to Braye Harbour for repairs.

The relief lifeboat is on station while the island's lifeboat the Roy Barker I is undergoing its annual service.
