The building of a 300-berth marina in Alderney could start as soon as spring 2011 if a developer is found.

The States of Alderney has started its search for a partner to design, build, finance and operate the new marina at Braye Harbour.

It said it hoped the new facility would bring tourists to the island, while allowing current operations to continue and providing private moorings.

The plan is to include the possibility of future ferries to and from the UK.

Expressions of interest need to be put to the States before the end of August.
