Guernsey's house prices fall by almost 5%

The price of the average house in Guernsey fell by almost 5% last quarter.

The cost of the median average local market house was £346,750, down 4.8% on the previous three months and up by 0.1% compared with a year earlier.

Guernsey's open market house prices also fell, by 7.6% over the quarter and almost 5% over the year.

The number of sales rose to 248, up 38% on the previous quarter.

Of those transactions 17 were on the open market and 231 were local.
