Guernsey cigarettes to show graphic warning
- Published
Cigarettes sold on Guernsey will soon have to display pictures of the medical damage caused by smoking.
The States of Guernsey has signed regulations requiring all tobacco products to show the warnings from next August.
Cigarette packets sold in the UK already show graphic images such as rotting teeth and diseased lungs.
The States said the rule would apply from next year to allow shops to sell the remainder of their stock.
Other products, such as pipe tobacco, will be subject to the same regulations from 2012.
