Waste water charges for Guernsey may start in 2011
- Published
New waste water charges for Guernsey householders will come in by April 2011, if agreed by the States.
The charges, an average of £150 per household, will be added to bills from Guernsey Water.
States members made the decision to introduce the annual waste water charge last year.
Some of the income from this new scheme will be set aside to improve the island's sewage treatment.
All domestic and commercial properties will have to pay the charges, including those with cesspits, although there will also be a reduction in the charges for the emptying of cesspits.
