New warning lights for oversized loads in Guernsey

  • Published

Vehicles and riders escorting oversized loads on roads in Guernsey are trialling the use of red flashing warning lights instead of amber.

The Environment Department said red lights were being used because amber had become less effective from its use on vehicles such as tow trucks.

The department consulted Guernsey Police about making the change.

Motorists who encountered the lights should drive in a more vigilant manner, the department said.
