Maintenance work set to cause delays across Guernsey

There could be severe traffic delays across Guernsey next week when one of the island's busiest routes closes for maintenance work to be carried out.

The Forest Road and Les Cornus will be closed in stages while resurfacing work is done.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journey as they follow diversions for the six-week duration of the works.

Maintenance will begin on Monday when Forest Road shuts for three weeks.

Traffic heading west should use Le Vauquiedor, St Andrews Road, Rue Frairies and Les Blicqs to get to the Chene traffic lights.

The eastbound diversion for heavy vehicles uses the same route, with the addition of La Villiaze Road, Route de L'Issue and Bouillon Road.

Lighter traffic heading east will be diverted left at the Chene, through Le Chemin Le Roi and Les Mouilpieds back to Les Cornus.
