Guernsey police warn parents over 'lone' walk to school

  • Published

Guernsey Police are warning parents that young children should not be walking to and from school alone.

Det Sgt Sarah-Jane Snowdon said: "We've noticed an increase in children as young as five or six years old being allowed to walk unaccompanied.

"However short this distance is to school it's not safe and they should not be left alone until they are supervised by another adult.

"Children under 10 should not be out alone especially next to busy roads."
