Guernsey States will reconvene a day early

The States of Guernsey will reconvene a day early in November to deal with outstanding items.

The three day meeting in October saw an end to debate about the States Strategic Plan, which aims to join up government policy and financial plans.

But some issues on October's agenda, such as a cigarette vending machine ban and changes to the electoral roll, were not debated.

Deputies will now return on 23 November to deal with two months of items.

A move to hold an additional meeting two weeks prior to that was defeated.
