TV recycling in Guernsey trebles
- Published
The amount of recyclable material recovered from scrapped television sets in Guernsey has trebled since April.
The total recovered went up from four and three quarter tons in April to 15 tons in September.
Tina Norman Ross, the recycling officer, said the figures were simply astonishing.
She said as the digital switchover, on 17 November, approached it seemed many islanders were choosing to recycle their old television sets.
The changeover means viewers will need either a digital ready TV or to attach a set top box to their old set.
